Official Running Computer for Sundown Marathon 2011

Following the success of it’s past three editions, Polar is proud to announce our continued support for Sundown Marathon 2011. The registration for the race has since concluded with a full capacity of 27,000 participants, making this the biggest ever night race in Singapore.

Sundown Talk

As the Official Running Computer for Sundown Marathon 2011, Polar has kicked started the string of Sundown Talks on 2 April 2011, with a topic on 'Maximising Your Fitness Level With Interval Training'. Adrian Mok, the General Manager of Polar Singapore, and also an endurance athlete himself whom will be running the 100km Ultra Marathon on 25 June 2011, offered special insights into training for the race.

A good mix of season marathon runners together with participants attempting the marathon for their first time and participants of 10km and 21km race categories made a pre-reisgtration to the talk before joining us at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. It has been an interactive session with Adrian addressing a wide range of questions and concerns beyond what was to be covered in the topic.

Official Sundown Pacers

To support the Official Sundown Pacers in their training and to provide an accurate pace timing on race day, Polar has once again equipped all the Sundown Ambassadors with a Polar Running Computer. Jointly organized by Polar Singapore and Team FatBird, a get-together session was held at New Balance Concept Store @ Scape on 20 April 2011.

Team leaders of each pacer group were given the privilege to get a firsthand experience with the latest Polar RCX5 Running Computer, which is only scheduled to be launched in May, at the Run Bike Swim Expo 2011. The rest of the pacers were each fitted with a stunning Polar RS300X SD Orange to help them achieve a target race-pace throughout the race.

At the end of an indepth product training, the pacers together with Adrian went on a 5km fun run out from Scape towards Fort Canning Park before making a return into New Balance Concept Store. Refreshments were kindly supplied by New Balance Team for the event. Despite feeling sweaty after the run, the Pacers were in high spirits and enthusiatiscally posed for a group photo before concluding the get-together session.

Run Bike Swim Expo 2011

Held in conjunction with the Race-Entry Pack Collection for Sundown Marathon 2011, the Run Bike Swim Expo 2011is an annual sporting exposition showcasing the largest range of consumer sporting brands.

As the Official Running Computer for Sundown Marathon 2011, Polar will reside at the sponsors exclusive area to meet all race participants right after the collection of their race-entry packs.

The highlight of this expo is the long awaited and highly anticipated launch of the Polar RCX5 Running Computer. Made for the desired needs of triathletes, the newRCX5 is set to bring excitement into the multisport community with its wide range of new features. We call upon all multisport enthusiast to be present at the expo and witness the introduction of this amazing new product.
